I got to meet my best friend! Whee!

Don't look at me like that, you know how it is online, you make lifelong friends with people you've actually never met, face to face. I've had very good luck with meeting people on my various flists, over the years. This week was certainly no exception. *beam*

My husband agreed (I'm still boggling over that) to have our vacation in Ohio, where we met the fabulous, charming and completely daft [livejournal.com profile] loreleif We chatted, tagged, went to a museum where we saw way more of the human muscular system than perhaps, I ever could take in at one time. We climbed around a submarine where Lor sniffed at not being allowed to flip switches. (The sub was actually still in the water and those switches still had real functions.)

We also went shopping and the guy there pulled one of my tricks, he called a distributor to ask about the order of the books in a series. Jeez, I thought I was the only one anal enough to do that. LOL Lor bought books, I bought books, and makeup. Mark bought little tin soldiers. And books. What can I say? We're a book-oriented lot.

I have eaten in Cracker Barrels in three states within 1 week, I want a freaking plaque for that, or at least a bowl of fried apples. *g*

Work in two days. Wah! *looks at icon and dreams about new Ben stuff in 5 DAYS* Five! Wheeeeeeeee!

Have you ever found yourself stopping yourself from commenting on an entry, or even just stopping yourself from posting something, because your flist might not find it interesting (and yes, I'm certain other people have asked this question before!) I'm very guilty of this. Of imaginging that if I'm not being cute, funny or clever, then whatever the thought I had just won't be interesting. Ya know what? Shame on me.

It's a great way to lose touch with people *raises hand for being guilty of that as well* And it's silly. I think we all like to get responses, even if it's merely a *hugs* or a LOL.

Anyway, that's my random thought for the evening. Talk amongst yourselves. *skips off to tag porn*
The morning was spent sleeping late, then running to the bank to set up some new accounts. I now own yet another cooler. Whatever happened to free blenders? We had lunch at Kelso's, a pizza place in North KC that's so slow, I think I counted a new wrinkle when I went to the bathroom. And people seated WAY after us got their food, ate it and left while we were still waiting for ours. I give this place a big thumbs down, even if the pizza sauce was freaking awesome with chunks of garlic in it. Still, I'd have liked a browner crusting of the cheese.

In contrast, the bakery next door was cheaper and way tastier. And I got my cheese danish in like, 5 seconds. *g*

Later on, we went to the movies. We paid to see Dark Water and made it a double feature by seeing W0tW *cough* Of the two, DW was the better film. WotW had fantastic special effects, but I felt like, once it was over, that I really didn't see much, beyond that. DW, on the other hand, was lovely and atmospheric. OK, so it's stuff we've seen before. I still enjoyed this take on the whole "is it a ghost, crazy people, crazy main character?" thing.
And Jennifer Connelly is cute as a button, so there! And Dougray Scott and... well, I liked it. :) And I spy the potential for Tim Roth/Dougray Scott slash. If one were so inclined to do so with the characters...
