We went to St Louis today and I was able to see for myself what condition my Father is in. The doctor said he is doing better, but his heart is quite damaged. :(
He was very glad to see me. I think my presence there made him try a little harder, which is good, he hasn't been walking like he should or doing his breathing exercises. I made him promise before I left that he would do everything he can to improve, for me. I told him I wasn't ready to lose him. He was pleased. I guess sometimes we need the encouragement of others...
Coming back and into Kansas City from 70 hwy, we passed the Fellowship of Christian Athletes building, an angular monstrosity. I looked up as we crested a hill and the entire city below us was filled with millions of lights. A truly transcendant view. It was a beautiful end to a trip that started with massive stress. I have such hope now.
