You wouldn't have thought that it was a million degrees (and as humid as a swimming pool) from the sheer amount of bodies squeezing into the store today. At a certain point I couldn't even catch my breath because everyone wanted something from me, anything. A calendar, a book for their club. One lady (who was sweet with her pinned up hair and soft German? accent) wanted a book on the history of tea and the various regions where they can be found.
Still, even while I ended up rather exhausted, it was fun. Doing the searches, hunting down the books and talking with the customers, that's the part that's good about being a bookseller.
That and mocha fraps for energy. *g*
Bus broke down twice on the way home. We all sat, breath held, waiting for the driver to fix what was wrong He did, thank god.) And then we were headed home for blessed a/c. After reading the comments from those on my flist, I firmly believe that a/c is truly a blessing. And I'm grateful to be sitting in it right now. And sad for the poor old fellow who died from the heat earlier today.
He was found, still alive, under his coffee table, trying to reach the coolness of the floorboards. He died later at the hospital. His a/c had broken a week or so ago and the owner of the house he was renting couldn't be bothered to have it fixed. I call that murder in this heat.
I think I need sleep. My apologies to those I owe game stuff/tags to. Hopefully tomorrow I will have more energy. *hugs to all*
