I buy a lot of bottleed water, so today I finally gave in and ordered a Berkey water filter. We got the little one, since it's just the two of us in the house (along with two cats and a dog). It was expensive, but ever since Mark and I have gotten married he has gone on about wanting a good water filter and I'm too cheap to spend a thousand bucks on an inline one. So, he can drink his filtered water, but we'll still be showering in tap water. :D
The change in eating doesn't seem to have translated into much in the way of weight loss, for me, although today I discovered my bottom is in a smaller size now, even of the top is the same. Weird. Bought new clothes anyway. I'm tired of wearing the same old worn out and tired looking things. So I have four new blouses, one is blue with blue roses and sparkly beads, I feel so girly in it.
I'm finding I'm less and less addicted to eating meat as the diet change goes on. I've been eating these Amy's Organic entries that have tofu instead of meat in them and not minding the lack of meat in the least. Truth to tell, when I backslide and eat more fat than I should, I actually feel icky. We're eating a lot of salads now. I would like to train myself to eat less pasta, though. I think it might account for the slow weight loss. *sigh* I hate feeling hungry. Interesting piece of advice I was given somewhere is that often times that hungry feeling is actually thirst, so I try to guzzle water when I can, which os hard when I man an information desk at work!
The nice comments about my hair have been continuing which, in a way, makes me laugh and sonder how I looked before! Except, well, in the mirror at Penney's today I could finally see all of the back and wow, that hairdresser really did give me a wonderful cut. And there she has to be four hours away in St Louis when I'll need the cut refreshed! I should have a picture or two taken, so I can show the next hair dresser and say; "just like this!"
It was raining and hailing earlier and I couldn't get either cat inside the house. I know they were camped out under the truck, but still! I can't believe that after 15 years of being an inside cat, Stinky is all about the great outdoors. The little devil.
