Yesterday a customer asked to complain to a manager because of the science fiction section. "You only seem to have books where one author takes up a whole shelf. And just the bestselling books too. And it's all fantasy!" Yep, buddy, fantasy is what sells, hardly anyone is writing actual science fiction, Sookie Stackhouse and Harry Dresden are all the rage and bestsellers make us money! Shocking!

Another silliness is tonight, we're closing the store, I mean, literally walking out and locking the doors and a man tries to go in. The AM told him we're closed and the alarm's been turned on and everything and he's still acting like closing is a negotiable thing. Geez, guy! We're tired, take the toddler and go see a movie. You know you were just going to go get a copy of Maxim to read in the kids section while your son played with the train!

Then there was the customer who wanted to use the employee restroom because the hand dryer was scaring her baby girl as she was trying to change her diaper. For crying out loud, lady, sometimes it's good to let a kid get scared by something as mild as a hand dryer, there are way scarier things out there, but if you coddle her, she's going to be frightened by all of them, including the not so scary stuff. I also didn't like the way she was trying to hedge her way into an invite to the employee restroom. Um, no, just no.

And lastly, to the customers yesterday who were making my fellow employee be the bad guy by having him scan a toy and announce the price (too high, apparently) I'd like fart in your general direction. Your offspring screamed, bit back a curse word and proceeded to cry loudly to guilt you into purchasing said toy. You let him, you didn't do anything to control him and he made quite a scene. You are not good parents, go away.

That's it for now! *salutes*
