I've never claimed to be graceful, yet sticking one's foot in the hole between the steps of a footstool as she steps down, seems especially clumsy. Managing to avoid serious injury since there was twisting and catching oneself on an octagon table suggests something akin to divine intervention. Whatever happened, I'm just so grateful I didn't give an already worn out knee additional damage. And, well, I do wear a knee brace whilst at work and I have been taking calcium supplements, so maybe I'm doing something right. LOL
It snowed today! Big fat and pretty flakes. I got to see them swirling around all afternoon. A definite perq of working in a store with windows (I worked in a mall for years, no windows, of course.) It was lovely watching all that coming down, but the walk home in it wasn't too bad at all.
Only bad spot to the day was walking up to the register area and seeing out the window that there were these beagles tethered to a pole. They had enough give to their lead that they kept wandering into the road! I went right out to them, tried to coax them into sitting in a safe place. The poor dears were freezing and really glad to see me. They jumped up, panting and wagging their tails. They had absolutely no comprehension of hand signals of any kind, or entreaties to sit or stay. After a moment they got right back up and wandered over to the road. So I had no choice but to tie them to another spot, at which point Plaza Security showed up. The guy who owned the beagles came really close to losing them, because she was only going to give him a little longer before she called animal control. He came out just as I was going in, I didn't stay for the conversation. What is with people?
