So, yeah, I'm 44 so menopause shouldn't be a shocker, really. But, come on, thick skin on my right knee and my heels? I'd been blaming the problem with my heels on my Crocs. But I think the Crocs just irritate the problem, I don't think they're the cause. And it also doesn't account for the thick and darkened skin on my knee.

I guess it was the weird guy at the bus stop asking about my knee that actually got me thinking about the problem. I really hadn't cared, up until now. So tonight I decided to do some research. And old memory of a discussion of menopause reminded me that a symptom can be changes in skin texture. So, with a bit of research I came up with the name Keratoderma climactericum. And all I have to do is treat the areas with creme containing salicylic acid.

And the hot flashes seem to be starting up again. I had them for a short time a few years ago, but they'd gone away. The past few days I've had periods of time in which I'm just terribly hot (and not only because of summer!) I've already been experiencing extremes of emotion...

Ugh, this is the first time ever that I wish I was 21 again.
