There's a community in Kansas City called Brookside. It's one of those places in which residents are rather fervently in love with their home. And it really is a pretty place. I didn't choose the condo simply because of that, although it was a strong factor. No way, for instance, would I have ever been able to afford a house there. But this condo, on the other hand, can be done. Although it will require a huge lifestyle change. I won't be able to spend money on a whim any longer. Everything will have to be planned out to the penny.
I'm ready for this, though. I'm tired of living in a declining neighborhood in which one can quite often see shots of on Cops or America's Most Wanted. Tired of seeing people arrested on the street all the time. It all gets old, it really does.
The condo is partially renovated. There's new tile in the bathroom shower. It also appears as if the carpet has been restretched. There are little pieces of carpet fibers all over. And the baseboards haven't been replaced. In a strange move, someone put indoor/outdoor carpet in the kitchen. So that will come up in favor of tile. No dishwasher! *weeps* SO that *has* to go in before we move! Not negotiable! LOL
So, yeah, getting excited. A little nervous as well. But we spent the day at Nebraska Furniture Mart planning our moves: kitchen first, then a new bed and some fresh, clean living room furniture. We saw a couch we both absolutely loved in bright red. There's other stuff. We need a computer desk, for instance and I would like a refrigerator with the freezer in the bottom and a new stove.
So much to spend! Ack! Hence the nervousness. LOL
