I'm doing the same thing with McShep fic, that I did with Qui/Obi, in which I hadn't watched the film since I saw it in the theatre (and I hated it then!)I rarely watch the show, (although I do enjoy it, I especially like Weir), but I love the fan fiction. I also have a strong sense in my mind of how Rodney should sound and behave. Both men should be strong, in their own ways. Both should be sarcastic, in their own ways. Same with the intelligence factor and wittiness. In fact, my favorite stories are the ones that focus on dialogue.
I think I'm just addicted to going to where the writing is good. And the more the merrier if it happens to be during the biggest fandom trend since Lotrips (which, by the way, I couldn't ever get into). Still, a new, good Q/O fic can still make me sit up and take notice, as well as Due South, Forever Knight, and if I'm really lucky, Farscape. But then I'll be back, trolling for the McShep. *g*
