Mark picked me up from work and told me that some folks from his work said, "that magician movie was pretty good." So I figure, sure, why not go to that, Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, yum! And I like them, so there's the "aw, so adorable factor.

Looked up the movie, decided, "oh no, we have to go out to Kansas to see this!" Still, Hugh and Christian, why not. So, we troop out there, get some fast food first...Did I mention I actually read snippets of reviews? Pay attention, this will be important in a moment.

We arrive at theater. I buy tickets, after fumbling around with the ticket kiosk a few times. Finally, though, success! I have tickets to *drumroll please* The Illusionist.

Credit scrolls. "Hmm, didn't know Ed Norton was in the Hugh Jackman movie." More credits scroll. "Paul Giamotti? Um, don't think this is the right movie, or else Hugh and Christian rate below Rufus Sewell in the credits to the movie they're co-starring in."

*facepalm*

Bright spot. Ed Norton! I absolutely freaking love Ed Norton and I have seen absolutely NO advertising for The Illusionist</b?, at all! So, fate, kismet and some odd sleight of hand, or selective vision, I suppose, permitted me to see this movie I didn't know a thing about. And it's good, entertaining and leaves you smiling. So I'm not so disappointed that I didn't get to see Hugh Jackman looking all intense. Instead, I got intense Ed. *happysigh*
