It was a half hour before it was time for me to leave today and Louis, one of the managers, tells me he's moving all this stuff from my floor to the first floor and it has to all be done tonight. We're talking fixtures and books. In one night. Right.
I have long suspected that his judgement is suspect. This, the moving of entire sections and thinking he's going to be able to do it in a few hours and that he thinks our manager is loopy enough to assign such a monumental task, just goes to show he's not running on all cylinders. I suggested he call someone. He got ahold of my floor manager who didn't understand quite what he was asking, so I got the phone from her and said, "is this a move? Books, fixtures, things coming from my floor?" The answer, of course, was no. His job was to update the store map so that a new floor map could be created. That's all. A job that would take no more than an hour.
I told Louis he owes me. I'm thinking pizza. *g*
Note to self: Lock yer damn phone when it's in your pocket!
