But it really only extends to the job, because I know the existing best sellers rather well. I haven't read any of them, but that's no surprise, the best sellers don't normally interest me. And lest one think I'm a snob, I might point out that I most often read romance novels, so a book snob I have not earned the right to be!
No, what I love about my job is having the customers give a teeny little snippet of information and being able to figure out what they are asking from that. Even better is when the customers seek me out multiple times to work my mojo again. Tonight it was a half dozen times that this occured.
OK So that's my favorite part of the job. My least favorite? People who spend all night thumbing through a mile high stack of books and who then just leave them when the store closes. *sigh*
Another favorite part, kids who are completely excited about books. And the babies with their cute little waving fists and kicking feet. I'd have to be in a pretty vile mood not to enjoy that. :)
