Sex anyone?

I love writing sex. But I think it's because the main pair I'm part of (in a rpg) is a deeply committed, loving couple. I'm not as interested in writing 'whore' pups. And yeah, there are times when writing even the main guys I will think I just need to type the basics; a thrust, a moan, ect. But then it all gets edited together and it's like Lite Brite lights. It shines. This tapestry of responses weaves together in a way that never fails to move me.

The buildup is very much the sex. Each touch, spoken word, the removal of clothing is very much part of the package. I mean; stick, thrust and come, yeah, by itself is dull as dishwater. I think there is a problem sometimes when we've read so much sex that it fudges into a big chocolatey blob. We become desensitized. The act of sex becomes just that, an act. I was looking at some porn pictures the other day and was amazed at how quickly I became bored. There was nothing there to engage me. Just body parts. I need to be emotionally involved and porn just doesn't do that for me.

I think there should be something to add tension. Perhaps one character has family issues, maybe they don't ever really get resolved in a satisfying way. But, unfortunately, that's pretty much how it is in life. What we all hope for is someone who be there for us, even when everything else is crap. And then we have sex scenes. *G*
