Last night PETA parked a truck right in front of the Barnes and Noble where I work and ran a video of cows being slaughtered on a big screen TV. There were people coming into the store in tears. Assholes.
I had the new Manager Greg call Plaza Security and were told that the police said they couldn't do anything about it. Nuh uh! I made him call back, the freaking truck was parked in a no parking zone, so for that alone, they (the police) showed up and made them leave. Yay for the big powerful conglomerate bookstores. *chuckle*
I have no problem with PETA, but I don't appreciate such things being broadcast where it can upset children, who wouldn't be able to process the info in a way that would allow them to sleep, or perhaps otherwise freak them out. I also don't like people who force their views on others, the way this does. I mean, we are almost all liberal at B&N and we were ALL offended.
But they were made to move on, so all's good now. :)
