Last night I got volunteered by my husband to help my MIL get a new air conditioner from Walmart, since she said her compressor was going out. She was late, as usual, which shouldn't surprise me, bcause she's always late. And she is old and forgetful. I still got mad, but I understand that sometimes it's just how it is with her. Although, this morning I was massively pissed. But, we got there, picked something out at the lowest price and got the fuck out of Dodge.

Of course, later in the afternoon, disaster then struck ME. My air conditioner went out. As in one moment working perfectly, the next, not working at all. I think something burned out and it kept trying to come back on. What a nuisance! Talked things over with the hubby on the phone while he was still at work and we agreed I would go get a replacement with his mom, and then he'd set it up when he got home. So, that's what we did.

We had a lovely dinner at the buffet. It's always fun to see the people stand up and have happy birthday sung to them. It's all very silly, but it makes people smile, and just adds to the atmoshere of what really is a series of troughs with plates. ;)

Later, after lugging the MIL's new ac unit into her house, Mark decided to check out this supposedly non-working ac. Um, well, it kinda helps if the knob is turned from warmer to colder, don't you think? Wow, it was like a MIRACLE, cold air came OUT! Hee! Jeez, if only I'd been patient, I could have just bought the unit she purchased, now she has to return it. Oh well.

It does piss me off just how crappy this ac we got from Sears has turned out to be. Last year we had to have new coolant put in because it had all leaked out. In one year! It's insane.

But, cool bedroom means I can sleep, so yay! for that. :)
